God Waits

God waits for us in quiet moments.
Jealous of our use of time.
Eager to hear us.
Eager to heal us.
God waits.

Spiritual Direction

Spiritual direction responds to the deep human need to discover connections between life events, emotions, thoughts, and God. In a safe, welcoming space, you are invited to explore and deepen your sacred story.

Examine questions about your faith, beliefs and relationship with God. Seek an answer to an important question. Discover new insights during times of deep emotion. Reflect upon a situation to discover God’s invitation. Learn ways to integrate your spiritual path with every day life events.

Spiritual Direction offers you an avenue to deepen your spiritual disciplines, to prayerfully discern direction and call, and to celebrate your spiritual growth.

Spiritual Direction Supervision

Supervision supports spiritual directors, pastors, leaders of faith communities, and those who tend the souls of others. It offers a time of prayerful discernment upon your own path as reflected through the lens of your clients and/or faith community. Monthly sessions may be scheduled individually or you may join a small group of peers.

Elaine is certified to offer supervision and was trained by Together in the Mystery, an affiliate of San Francisco Theological Seminary.

For supervision, please contact Elaine@sacredpathministry.org.

Prayer Sabbaths

God’s invitation to come closer, to experience more freedom, to deepen our joy in the mystery of life is always present. We are often too busy to notice.  A Prayer Sabbath invites you to rest in God and be renewed.

Take time away from the busyness of work and seek God. Give yourself the gift of silence, solitude, and time for reflection, focusing, and sharing. Notice the inner movements of God within your body, mind, heart, and life. Experience God’s love, compassion and be healed.

Rest. Play. Experiment. Enjoy. Risk and allow God to direct your time. Notice God’s presence in your activity or non-activity and reflect upon its meaning for you. Allow this gift to gently transform you. You are worth it!

Prayer Pactices

“Sound is the voice of the Created. Silence is the voice of the Creator. Listen loudly. Speak in whispers.” (Native American tradition)

Explore a variety of prayer practices to broaden your experience of prayer. Learn the history of ancient prayer practices from the early church and the desert mothers and fathers. Experiment to find those practices that work best for you.

Body prayer, praying with color, creative prayer, lectio divinia (divine reading), praying your life, the prayer of Examen, Centering Prayer, walking the labyrinth, sacred sound, and chanting are a few examples of what you might experience during our classes.
